Trip Description
It is a widely-accepted fact that an astonishingly major share of The Himalayas lies in India. Not to mention, it is dotted with a lot of beautiful and awe-inspiring ranges and peaks. One such peak is Mt Nun, the highest peak in the Zanskar Valley of Ladakh. The greater part of the giant Nun Kun Massif is nothing short of 7,135m of sheer energy. The nature of the mountain, its crevasse-riddled surface, its exceptionally terrifying propensity for changing face consistently thereby changing routes, elaborate glacial formations, high gradient ice walls, technical patches, sharp ridges, continually evolving climate, high height, and solid breezes make it a lot harder peak to climb than many other 7,000m peaks and thus very demanding.

The expedition to Mt. Nun is only for experienced mountaineers who wishes further on to climb 8-thousanders. Prior knowledge of technical and mountaineering techniques such as the use of ice axes, roping up procedures, crampons, and jumaring are required. Climbers must be physically and mentally fit due to the technical ascent to the summit as well as the extreme and unpredictable weather conditions. Mt Nun is one of the most accessible 7,000m peak and provides a remarkable sense of accomplishment, while also bringing you one step closer to your expedition aspirations of much higher and harsher peaks.

Soon the landscape around turns barren with rocks, boulders, and mud. After a high pass and a waterfall, we reach Nun Base Camp (4,600m).

Day 7
The Base Camp is a place extremely vibrant in its energy. The day starts with a Puja, a ritual to seek a safe and successful journey. Gear distribution, demonstration, and practice on the icy slopes around the base camp will take place today. Subsequently, it will help us acclimatize well.

Day 8 to Day 18
This long climbing period includes time to set up three high camps: Camp 1 @ 5,550m, Camp 2 @ 6,100m and Camp 3 @ 6,400m, before making the final summit push which will be a 15 hours roundtrip. The whole climb includes a lot of extremely steep ascents, sometimes ranging up to 75 degrees on an icy wall. The optimum amount of thrill surprisingly comes with unbelievable views.
